Sydney Dives

Sydney is famous for its skyline, its harbor, and its status as a global hub. But what most tourists—and even many locals—don't realize is that Sydney offers some of the best city-side diving in the world. On our very doorstep lies an incredible network of shore and boat dives, each with its own secret highlights. Imagine finishing a day at the office and, within minutes, heading to the beach with friends to swap your suit for a wetsuit. Sydney offers the rare chance to spend your mornings and evenings before work face-to-face with curious octopus, vibrant seadragons, and iconic sharks. Whether it’s rain or shine, our temperate waters provide a year-round playground that sets Sydney apart from every other major city on Earth.

On this page you will find my fieldguide to showcase the unique marine life found in Sydney. You can also find information about the top dive sites in Sydney. This set of pages aims to highlight why Sydney is so amazing so that we can advocate for greater protection of this remarkable underwater ecosystem.
