Shiprock

Shiprock offers something different to other shore dives due to its sheer faced reef that makes this a great wall dive and is easily accessible from the shore (if you can brave the steps).  It has beautiful sponges and corals along its wall and every dive is different.

This site is best suited to advanced open water divers with a good control of their buoyancy. Divers without control of their buoyancy can easily find themselves kicking up the sand or scraping along the wall and damaging the marine environment. Be prepared to use an SMB / safety sausage or flag to ensure people know you are there and ascend close to the line making sure no boats are overhead.

Tide times are very important at this site as the currents can get very strong on an incoming / outgoing tide. I would highly recommend that divers take a guided shore dive to explore this dive site.

If you go to this site you will notice a sign which shows pictures all some of the marine life in the area, which credits my good friend Thierry. His website is www.inbetweendives.com which you should check out as he is a fantastic photographer and conservationist.
