This is another common species of Wobbegong shark with wonderful markings that make them super camouflaged. They have very prominent O rings on its body. They can be found in both the harbour and on ocean side dive sites in Sydney. These sharks grow to about 1.8m in length. Their range around Australia is similar to the Banded/ Gulf Wobbegong shark. These sharks usually have a sandy colour to them. I include a photo of their tail below because sometimes that is all you can see of these sharks. All wobbegong sharks are ovoviviparous sharks. This means their pups develop inside eggs within the female's body until they are ready to hatch and then they give birth to live young. When born, they look almost identical to the adult form, just with smaller proportions.
